Data controller
The data controller is the website publisher. For requests concerning personal data, write to focusjournal@gmail.com.
Data processed
We process account information provided by the sign-in service, onboarding answers, weekly goals and tasks, focus sessions, journal entries and information needed to manage your subscription, such as its status and Stripe customer ID. Full card details are entered with Stripe and are not stored by FocusJournal.
Why we use it
This data is used to create and secure your account, provide your FocusJournal space, save and display goals, your journal and progress, manage your trial and subscription, and answer requests. FocusJournal does not use it for advertising targeting.
Legal basis
Processing needed for your account, features and subscription is based on performing the requested service. Processing needed for security and proper operation is based on FocusJournal's legitimate interests. Accounting obligations may require retaining some billing records.
Service providers
The project uses Replit hosting and PostgreSQL, Replit-managed Clerk for authentication, and Stripe for payments and subscriptions. Google may receive information needed for sign-in if you choose that method. Vercel and Supabase are not configured for this version. Hosting regions and any transfers outside the European Economic Area must be confirmed with providers before publication.
Retention
Account, questionnaire, goal and journal data is retained while the account is in use. Request account closure and deletion at focusjournal@gmail.com; relevant data is deleted within 30 days except where longer retention is legally required. Accounting documents are retained for the legally required period. Technical logs may follow the hosting provider's retention periods.
Cookies and local storage
The service uses technical storage needed for sign-in and account security. Your browser may also store in-progress questionnaire answers and timer state locally. No advertising pixel or advertising analytics tool is configured in this version.
Language and approximate location
To suggest a default language, the server estimates your country from your IP address using a local database, without an external geolocation service or GPS. This is not used for pricing or advertising targeting. Your FR/EN choice is saved on this device and in a preference cookie for one year. You can change it at any time.
Your rights
You may request access, correction, deletion or restricted processing of your data, object to certain processing or request portability where applicable. Write to focusjournal@gmail.com; a response will be provided within the applicable legal deadline. You may also complain to the French data protection authority, CNIL.
Security
FocusJournal limits processing to data needed for the service and relies on specialist authentication, hosting and payment providers. FocusJournal does not store passwords or full payment card numbers.
Minimum age and updates
The service is intended for people aged 18 and over. This policy may change; the date below shows its latest update.
